SOLDEU RESORT INFORMATION
Soldeu Village - Après-Ski.... the Resort...
|
Soldeu village is a medium sized lively resort popular with the British, French and Spanish. The resort is built along the main road that runs from Andorra La Vella (the capital of Andorra) through to France. The resort has a mixture of large and small hotels, ski-shops, bars and restaurants. Many of the workers in the resort are young and speak good English, which helps to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere around the resort.

Après-Ski in Soldeu. is busy, helped by the young skiers and snow-boarders that are attracted to Andorra. Andorra is well known for it’s duty free status, which helps the Après-Ski in all the resorts. Thereis no shortage of bars, restaurants and Hotels in Soldeu. For example there is the legendary ´T Bar´ (the oldest bar in Soldeu) with its gentle tradition of helping customers downing shots while hanging upside down, in ski´s, from the ceiling, to a range of other venues that offer live music. From the apartment the nearest hotel bar / restaurant is a 30 metre walk. The next, in the opposite direction, is about 85 metres away, and has live (pop-rock) music on Thursday nights and also has an excellent resturant. There is

also an Indian Restaurant in Soldeu! (about 100 - 150 meters from the apartment). For the more adventurous a trip to the capital Andorra La Vella is only a half-hour drive away, and El Tarter, lower down the mountain, is only a 5 minute drive from Soldeu.

If skiing for the first time (in Soldeu), it’s possible to arrive and leave the beginners area via the Gondola (no need to ski to the bottom of the mountain!). The beginners area in Soldeu is located by the Gondola area with easy pull ropes and gentle slopes to learn on). Soldeu is famous for getting people 'skiing'.
|
The snow record is excellent, helped by much of the skiing lying above 2000m. The resort has also invested heavily in snow cannons. As soon as it’s cold enough the resort starts making snow, so an excellent base is almost guaranteed. Visit the Grandvalira web pages
