Soldeu Resort Soldeu Ski Resort is a small mountain village popular with the British, French, Russians and Spanish. The resort is built along the main road that runs from Andorra La Vella (the capital of Andorra) through to France. The resort has a mixture of large and small hotels, ski-shops, and local bars and restaurants. In recent years Soldeu has benefited from significant investment such as luxurious hotels and spa's and an expanding ski domain, but has kept its traditional bars and pubs, which now makes for a very cosmopolitan and friendly village feel. Soldeu is viewed by many as the best resort to stay in given its combination of village feel, altitude, shopping and bar facilities (over 20 bars) and easy access to the slopes. The resort often enjoys good reviews. Many of the workers in the resort are young and speak good English, which helps to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere around the resort. Après-Ski in Soldeu is busy, helped by the young skiers and snow-boarders that are attracted to Andorra. Andorra is well known for its duty free status, which helps the après-ski in all the resorts. Soldeu night life is very active and can last till 3 or 4 am. For example there is the legendary Irish ´Harp Bar´ (the oldest bar in Soldeu) which offers great live music and late night drinking. From the apartment the nearest hotel bar / restaurant is a 30 metre walk. The next, the Hotel Roc is in the opposite direction about 85 meters away, and often has live music nights, and also has an excellent restaurant. For the more adventurous a trip to the capital Andorra La Vella is only a half-hour drive away, and El Tarter, lower down the mountain, is only a 5 minute drive from Soldeu. |
